How To Get Muscular – My Story

Click here to see how I finally started to get muscular

When I was growing up I always felt a bit like an outcast among my friends because I was tall and really skinny and most of them are the kind of guys who are just naturally muscular (I’m sure you know the type). I just didn’t feel confident at all with my body and all I wanted was to get muscular like everybody else.

I got to the point where I had to do something about it so I started to work out, but I didn’t have a clue where to start so I asked my friends because I thought they would have some good advice for me. They told me that If I wanted to get muscular like them then I would have to take this supplement and that supplement (which all tasted like crap) and that I need to hit the gym at least 4 times a week. So after trying out everything that they were telling me for a few months I wasn’t really seeing the muscle gains that I was looking for and I was starting to get a bit annoyed about it all. I just couldn’t understand that all the effort I was putting in and I was hardly seeing any results at all. I didn’t want to give up though because I was feeling even worse than before id started at this point.

So I started to look around the internet for some advice or tips or just anything to show me how to get muscular, but it seemed that everywhere I looked it was all about massive guys who can easily put on muscle and there was not really any information for the skinny guys. Until I finally found something that looked like just the thing I was after, it was a muscle building program made by a guy who used to be skinny just like me and now he was 210 lbs with only 10% body fat. I just had to try it out, I had nothing to lose!

So I started the program and I was absolutely amazed with the results, after just a couple of weeks I was starting to get muscular like never before. I just couldn’t believe I had been working so hard before with next to no results and after just a couple of weeks I couldn’t be happier with the results. One thing I will say though if you are thinking about trying out this muscle building program is that there is quite a lot of reading involved so if your not much of a reader it may not be for you but in my eyes that’s the least I would do to get a muscular body.

In order to get muscular quickly you really need to be following a good quality workout program as well as diet plan otherwise you will probably find that it’s takes you a hell of a lot longer to get the body that you want.

Want To Know How To Get Muscular? Follow These 5 Tips

April 21st, 2010 by Theo No comments »

I used to be really skinny and fed up with the way I looked, I had next to no confidence and all I wanted was to know how to get muscular.

If you follow these 5 simple tips then you too will be able to build muscle and get the muscular body that you dream of along with having a massive boost in confidence and self esteem.

Eat More Often

If your goal is to build a lot more muscle and to get muscular then one of the first things that you must do is start to eat regularly, every 2-3 hours to be exact. This is so that your body is always topped up with nutrients to be able to repair and gain muscle throughout the day.

Eat More

For us skinny guys to build muscle it is vitally important to make sure that you are getting enough calories in your diet each day. A lot of skinny guys (including me when I first started trying to get muscular) under estimate the amount of calories that they are eating, which is a BIG mistake. How are your muscles supposed to grow if you don’t feed them?

Don’t Forget To Rest

This may be the most simple tip of them all but many people over look it. Because your muscles grow while you are resting and not while your in the gym working out, it is very important to get enough rest and sleep.

You can be working out like crazy in the gym, but if you don’t let your muscles rest then there is no way that they will grow.

Save Your Money, Don’t Buy Supplements

An important thing to mention is the fact that most of the body building magazines that have pages and pages of supplement ads are actually owned by the supplement company’s. So of course they are going to tell you that the supplements are amazing and you must have them. When the fact of the matter is, most of them don’t work! (believe me, I’ve tried them). Although not all supplements are a waste of money, I always like to have some protein shakes handy in case I need to top up my protein intake for the day, and always start my day with multivitamin and omega 3 tablets.

Keep It Up

It can be very easy to give up if you don’t see immediate results at first, but as long as you consistently train and eat right then you will have the muscular body that you’ve always wanted.

If you follow these simple tips then you will wave goodbye to your skinny body forever just like I did. But in order to see the best results it is extremely important to find a training program that works and that doesn’t leave you guessing in some areas. That is why I would recommend following the no-nonsense muscle building program, It is the program I used to get muscular and I believe that it is by far the best all round muscle building program that is available today.

Calorie Intake

February 7th, 2010 by Theo 3 comments »

When trying to go from skinny to muscular it is extremely important to be getting the right amount of calories in your muscle building diet in order to feed your muscles and give you enough energy to get through your workouts.

I always used to guess how many calories that I was getting and have a sort of rough figure in my mind of how many calories I was getting through each day, but when I actually decided to do it properly and write everything down I had I bit of a shock!

As it turned out I was only getting around 2500 calories on average in a day, and you might think well that’s the recommended amount for a male so you’ll be alright. But what you have to remember is that we are trying to gain some serious muscle mass here so just eating the recommended calories isn’t really what we need to be doing. We need to get a lot of good quality calories into our diets so that are muscles have the best chance possibly of gaining mass.

So if you were like me and you think that you are eating the right amount of calories then I would definitely advise you to start making a food diary so that you can keep on top of your calorie intake and you will be well on your way to getting muscular!

How To Get Muscular Abs

February 3rd, 2010 by Theo No comments »

the truth about muscular absI used to be desperate to get muscular and have six pack abs, but I didnt know what I was doing at all. So I would be doing loads of sit ups, crunches, dumb bell side bends and then thinking ‘oh I better not eat too much otherwise I will never get abs’. But of course all I was doing was overtraining and not eating anywhere near enough food to be able to get muscular abs in the first place. So after doing this for a while I was obviously getting very frustrated about it all and I just couldnt understand why my muscular six pack wasnt even starting to appear.

After getting totally nowhere I knew that I must be doing something majorly wrong, so I decided to do a bit of research and what I found out was actually seemed very strange to me. I found out that trying to eat less was actually doing the opposite of what I wanted – because when I was eating I would leave a long time between meals so when I did eat my body would store fat. The best way to get muscular six pack abs Is to actually eat more! Strange I know, but if you eat little and often rather than the 3 meals a day that peolple always used to say was the best for you. Then your body is always topped up with all the things that it needs to build muscle and has no need to store fat.

Obviously the kinds of foods you eat play a massive role in how to get muscular abs but if you are not eating little and often then you will be pretty much wasting your time and energy.

Does running make your legs big?

February 3rd, 2010 by Theo No comments »

When I was young and naïve I would often wonder why the athletes (runners mainly) in things like the olympics would have really skinny legs. I just couldnt work out why they would not have muscular legs with all the training that they do. So after doing a bit of research I found out the reason why, and that is that there are two different types of muscle fibres – slow twitch and fast twitch. The slow twitch fibres being the ones that are used for endurance type activities.

So ‘does running make your legs big?’ the answer is in fact a big fat no because running (endurance) uses more of the slow twitch musle fibres as opposed to the fast twith fibres that are more for strength and usually with muscle strength comes muscle mass. So if you were wondering how to gain muscle or how to get huge then the less running that you do the better. That being said I believe that you should always leave time for at least a little running or cardio even if you are trying to get big, just to make sure you keep your heart nice and healthy.
